Emotions, anxiety and body-based stress responses

Sometimes you understand intellectually that you are safe, yet your emotions or body continue to react. Anxiety, tension, avoidance, disrupted sleep, exhaustion or physical sensations may become more noticeable when chronic stress and emotional pressure are difficult to process.

Psychological work can help you understand what is happening underneath the distress, recognise emotional and nervous-system patterns, and respond with greater clarity rather than fear, avoidance or self-criticism.

Background

Professional & Lived Experience

I bring both psychological training and lived experience into my work.

Alongside my psychology practice, I have built and led businesses, managed teams, carried responsibility, navigated uncertainty, and balanced professional pressure with family life.

I am Ukrainian, based in Dubai, married for 11 years, and a mother of two boys. My family is Ukrainian–Italian, and I work with clients in English, Russian, and Ukrainian. For clients who prefer to work in Russian, sessions with a Russian-speaking psychologist in Dubai are available from the first consultation.

This background does not replace clinical knowledge — it gives my work context. I understand the emotional weight of responsibility, performance, transition, relationships, and identity not only theoretically, but from lived experience.

Method

Every session serves a purpose. Every intervention has context.

1

Assessment & Mapping

The first session focuses on understanding — not advice. Through structured inquiry, we map the presenting patterns: anxiety, overthinking loops, emotional regulation difficulties, relationship dynamics, or burnout responses.

Understanding the structure of what someone is carrying always precedes intervention. This is what separates targeted psychological work from general support.

2

Structured Therapeutic Work

Sessions draw on evidence-informed approaches — cognitive behavioural therapy, attachment-informed work, emotion regulation frameworks, and nervous-system approaches — matched to what the person brings, not to a fixed template.

For couples, this includes Gottman-informed communication work, pursuer-withdrawer cycle mapping, and emotional repair. For individuals, it includes anxiety management, burnout recovery, overthinking patterns, and self-worth work.

3

Integration & Consolidation

Patterns shift when the structures beneath them change. The final phase of work focuses on consolidating new responses, building regulatory capacity, and creating changes that hold outside the session — in relationships, at work, and in daily life.

Before You Reach Out

Understanding the Signals

Before we address symptoms, it can be useful to understand the patterns beneath them.

This is not a clinical diagnosis. It is an invitation to explore where stress may be showing up — and what it might mean.

On Complexity

Most people who reach out are not in crisis. They are functioning — often functioning well. But something underneath has been accumulating for longer than they would like to admit.

Anxiety that never fully settles. Overthinking that fills the space between meetings. Relationships that keep arriving at the same unresolved place. Burnout that rest does not repair. These are not random symptoms. They are organised patterns — and patterns have structure.

Symptoms are visible.
What drives them is not.

Anxiety, burnout, relational conflict, overthinking, emotional withdrawal —
these are organised systems with histories. They do not disappear by being managed. They shift when the structure underneath changes.

My work focuses on the architecture beneath behaviour: attachment patterns, defensive strategies, cognitive structures, nervous-system responses. Understanding these is not a luxury. It is the difference between managing symptoms indefinitely and creating change that holds.
